Just a thought

Lackey's a strike out pitcher who should ring up a fair amount on Friday. I'll tell ya what, if I'm Bengie in the next game, I tag out every batter on a strike out. I do it on balls that don't come close to the ground. I do it when the batter swings at a pitch over his head. I do it on called strikes. And I make sure I stare right down at Eddings when I'm doing it.

But I'm a dick, so maybe that's just me.

It was a bad break. Maybe a bad call but you can't give up and concede the loss if you are the Angeles. Its almost as bad as the Cubs fans blaming the loss of the NLCS on Bartman. Oh, and I think there might have been a few calls that went the other way Monday night as well.

No, there were correct calls that went against the way they're often called. Actually, Monday there was one call, and it was the correct one. There was also a call Friday that, while rarely called, was correct.

Here, there was a missed call, an out call, a reversal of that call without saying anything, and then a pack of lies after the game.

But yeah, it's almost th esame thing.

Bengie won't do that because that's not the way the Angels work. They just turn the page and win the next one.

I had the same thought. Tag everyone from now on, and make sure the Umps see it. All 6 of them who didn't see the play last night. What good are 6 umps if none of them could see the ball never touched the ground.

Sean is right. The Angels do not dwell on things like this. They will move on. Only the media and us will keep harping on it.

For the record, I would run to first base every time I strike out regardless of what happened.

It's one thing not to dwell on things, but it's another to use simple precaution so that it doesn't happen again. Any strikeout on a pitch that's below the batter's knees, and I make the tag, too, just to be safe.

Also, I don't think I play Paul defensively the rest of the ALCS or, hopefully, the WS. You just have to be sure, Josh...

Yes, as a White Sox fan, I think it would be a very, very good idea for the Angels to try to show up one or more umpires during the rest of this series.

Perhaps we could even get them to wear "The Umpires Are Stupid!!!" signs on their backs? That would really get the point across.

I believe the real issue is Eddings made a call that was ambiguous. The Angels saw out and the White Sox saw an opportunity to go to 1st.

It's the playoffs and both teams deserved a better umpire behind the plate.

Eddings is the one who really dropped the ball on this one.

Or how about not rolling the ball to the mound and walking off the field when the other player is running towards first base. If you see him running towards first base, simply throw it down there. God you guys are unbelievable.

I love this line of thinking:

Or how about not rolling the ball to the mound and walking off the field when the other player is running towards first base.

"The catcher and all of the fielders should have known that the umpire was going to fuck up the call, AND that he was going to use different signals and vocal commands than he'd been using the whole game."

Smarter monkeys, please.
