Missed it

Fell asleep in the second inning, and woke up about four hours later. Sorry. Looks like I didn't miss anything.

Having watched some of it on TiVo, the kid got screwed, and Scioscia did the right thing going to bat for him.

Screwed = Beat by the World Champs?

No shame in that.

Screwed = Missed call on the Ortiz strikeout, which would have gotten him out of the big inning.

Or at least, would have gotten him one out closer to getting out of the big inning.

Oh, man, seriously, cut it out. You're embarrassing yourselves. Walk, walk, defensive indifference and you're blaimng it on a non-call?

Christ, you sound like fucking Red Sox fans.

Hey, fuck off! I didn't say it was it was the difference in the game, or that they would have won otherwise. The fact was that he swung, the ump missed the call, it was a big out, and Scioscia was right to back the kid up on it.

My problem is that Scioscia should have jumped out of the dugout earlier and ripped into the ump, rather than yelling at him from the dugout, getting tossed, and then running out there. Of course, it would have been better if the 1st and 3rd base umpires could have actually used their eyes (Manny Ramirez was safe by about half a second one a double play he grounded into but was called out).

Seitz- the next hitter bounced into a double play. It made a HUGE difference.

Scott- Go fuck yourself.

Seitz said...

Yeah, but there's no guaranty he would have bounced out. You can't assume that.

"Scott- Go fuck yourself."

I'm not sure I deserved that. If I had feelings, they'd be hurt.
