Hey, fuck off! I didn't say it was it was the difference in the game, or that they would have won otherwise. The fact was that he swung, the ump missed the call, it was a big out, and Scioscia was right to back the kid up on it.
My problem is that Scioscia should have jumped out of the dugout earlier and ripped into the ump, rather than yelling at him from the dugout, getting tossed, and then running out there. Of course, it would have been better if the 1st and 3rd base umpires could have actually used their eyes (Manny Ramirez was safe by about half a second one a double play he grounded into but was called out).
Screwed = Missed call on the Ortiz strikeout, which would have gotten him out of the big inning.

Yeah, but there's no guaranty he would have bounced out. You can't assume that.
